Simple DIY Confetti Coffee Sleeve

We are always looking for new ways to use our party pretties.  I decided to play around with our confetti and came up with a quick and easy way to add a little fancy to our paper cups.  It is so simple and looks adorable!

{photo credit:  Katie Hickenbottom Photography}

Turn paper cup into a fancy party cup!

You will need:

*Clear packaging tape

*Scissors

*Fancy That paper cup-we have a ton of paper cups that work like a charm

*Fancy That confetti- grab a bag or two or three. There are so many pretty colors!

Sprinkle confetti on the surface of your choice (a cutting board works particularly well).  To measure tape, wrap a piece around the cup, adhesive side out, then cut the tape to fit your cup.

NOTE: In order for the tape to fit flat and snug around the cylindrical shape of the cup the tape will overlap and become uneven. This is ok because it allows the confetti to look like it is climbing up the side of the cup.  So wrap up the tape tight even if it is uneven.

Slide tape off cup and roll in sprinkled confetti. Shake off the excess and slide back around cup. Pat confetti tight to the tape so there isn’t any sticky tape left uncovered. Now stand back and admire your handy work.

Voila! You have a simple and darling DIY Confetti Coffee Sleeve.

You don’t have to limit your sleeve to just cups!  Katie filled our clear tubes with cotton candy to make a cute party favor.  The sleeve works on square items too.  You can use the same technique to jazz up our 4×4 colored boxes. The possibilities are endless!

DIY Glitter Leaf Garland

Fall is here! Can you believe it? My favorite season by far. The air is cool and the leaves are changing. The sensational colors on the trees are what makes fall so spectacular! Why not bring a little outdoors in, with this glamorous DIY glittered leaf garland! I just love the beautiful colors and how it shimmers.

DIY Glitter Leaf Garland | Fancy That

Here’s what you’ll need to make a garland of your own:

  • Silk leaves
  • super fine glitter in fall colors. I used gold, copper and brown
  • Elmer’s glue
  • Foam brush
  • Hole punch
  • Twine or ribbon

You can find all of these supplies at your local craft store.

Use a foam brush to cover the surface of a silk leaf with Elmer’s glue. Next, sprinkle glitter over the leaf until it’s completely covered. Shake off the excess glitter and set it aside to dry. Repeat this for all of your leaves. I let mine dry overnight, but you’ll want them to set for at least 3 hours. Once your leaves are dry, use a hole punch to make a hole near the stem end of each leaf. You’ll need one long piece of ribbon or twine for your garland and then several individual lengths to hang each leaf by. The amount you’ll need will depend on how long you want your garland to be and how many leaves you’re using. Thread a length of twine or ribbon through each leaf and tie it to your main garland strand. For added interest, use different lengths for each leaf so they vary in height. You can also string each leaf onto one long piece of material as well. You could even skip the hole punch step and use mini clothes pins to clip them onto your garland. Lots of options!

Whatever route you choose, these easy DIY glitter leaves will make a beautiful addition to your fall décor.

Happy glittering!

Angela
