Beauty and The Beast Bridal Shower

Be our guest at the most fab Beauty and The Beast themed bridal shower! It’s all in the details and Bella C Parties did an amazing job styling this magical soiree with party pretties from Fancy That!

From the tiny gold teacups to the stunning cake made by Sewell Sweets, there is nothing ordinary about this party, so let’s take a peek, shall we?

We love how Bella C used our gold acrylic letters as both a photo prop and a banner!

Balloons are so in right now and people are coming up with such creative ways to use them! Our Mrs. & Mrs. , and metallic gold balloons were used as a table back-drop here and we love it!

All the heart eyes for these place settings! Our custom favors look so cute in the little gold tea cups! And check out our yellow scalloped plates and rose gold napkins.

Champagne on the rocks! Pouring champagne over rock candy is probably one of our favorite things. The rock candy flavors the champagne for a fun and easy cocktail! Try it with a clear soda for a non-alcoholic treat!

We love getting to collaborate with so many talented women and this was such a fun shoot – check out the list of vendors below and show them some love!

How To Hygge, Fancy Style

Drink Tea and Hygge Cup Sleeve | Fancy ThatPhoto credit:  Katie Hickenbottom Photography

The holidays are over but that doesn’t mean you need to let the winter blues get you down.  In fact, winter is the perfect time to enjoy hygge.

What is hygge you ask?

Hygge (pronounced “HUE-gah”) is a Danish concept of creating happiness, comfort and coziness in our lives. Think a crackling fire, a pair of cozy socks, a warm blanket, lots of candlelight, a warm cup of tea, good friends and great food.   All of us at Fancy That love to hygge.  So we decided to share our tips on how to hygge fancy style.

Candles – Light those candles (lots of them)!  The glow of a candle is the best way to embrace the hygge tradition.   You can also include warm toned lamps or twinkle lights as well.  If you’ve got a fire place, light it up!  The roar and glow of a fire is perfect to hygge.  Need to update your candle stash?  One of our favorites is our Paddywax soy candle collection.  We have lots of colors and scents – the salted grapefruit is a staff favorite!

Hot Drink –  There is nothing more relaxing than snuggling up with a warm beverage, right? Put on the kettle and brew up a cup of tea, coffee or cider (we’ve been known to spike it too!)  We love mugs…like a lot!  Pick one that makes you smile and brings up happy thoughts!

Get Cozy – Find the warmest, coziest socks you can.   Throw on your pajamas or comfy sweats and oversized sweaters.  Seriously, ditch the jeans and get comfy!

The Blanket – Get the softest, coziest blanket you can find to wrap yourself up in.

Sweet Treat – What is your favorite treat to enjoy?  I will never turn down a brownie or truffle!  Whatever you crave, enjoying a decadent treat is the perfect compliment to your hot drink.

Unplug – This is important!  Unplug from social media, emails and texts.  Journal, read a book or magazine, listen to music, invite a friend over and catch up.

Now, let’s hygge!

Hygge kits make a lovely gift –  stop by our Orenco Station shoppe and we will help you put one together!   Visit our pinterest board for more ideas on how to hygge!

Get Your Mocktail On!

We heart Valentine’s Day! Although we try to spread the love all year round, it’s awesome having a day dedicated to showing someone (or someones) just how much you love them.  Sweeten up your sweethearts this year with some mouth watering mocktails that kids and adults will love!

Pink Crush

1 sphere lollipop crushed up

2 tbsp sugar

Sparkling raspberry flavored water (this should not be sweetened)

Crush up the lollipop in a bag, then mix in the sugar. Add a spoonful or two to your martini glass and top with sparkling water. Add straw, sip and enjoy!

Strawberry Floats

Strawberry Soda

Vanilla Ice Cream

Whipped Cream
So…I just eye balled things for this recipe. Scoop some vanilla ice cream into the tumbler and top with the strawberry soda. Add whipped cream and a fancy umbrella. Yum! Yum!
Love on the Rock
Sparkling Apple Cider (or champagne for those 21 and over)
Rock Candy
So Simple, yet so sophisticated! Pour the sparkling apple cider into the champagne flute, then add the rock candy. The rock candy will give the apple cider some additional flavor. C’est magnifique!
Shirley Temple
Ginger ale
Maraschino Cherry
You can’t beat this classic mocktail! Again, I just eyeballed this recipe…so all you need to do is pour the ginger ale into the wine glass and add grenadine to taste. Top with a maraschino cherry (or a few).
If you want a little extra sumpin-sumpin add a splash of your favorite booze to any of the above recipes.
Happy mocktailing!

Chocolate Covered Kettle Corn Recipe

We’ve got an amazing kettle corn recipe for you to try. We’ve fancied ours up by drizzling it with chocolate, adding a sprinkling of sprinkles and served it in one of our cute treat bags (these also serve as portion control because you could totally eat the whole batch).  They make a great addition to a dessert table or as a party favor!  Enjoy!

Kettle Corn Recipe

1/4 cup vegetable oil (or try coconut oil for added flavor)

1/2 cup un-popped pop corn

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1. Place the oil in a large pot along with 3 pop corn kernels.

2. Turn the heat to medium high.

3. While that’s heating up, get out a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper or foil sprayed with oil.

4. Once the test kernels have popped add the rest of the kernels and the sugar to the pot.

5. Stir to coat kernels with sugar.

6. Cover the pot and continually move it back and forth to prevent popcorn from burning. Move the pot off the burner a couple times.

7. Once the popping slows down pour the pop corn onto the prepared baking tray.

8. Sprinkle hot corn with salt.

9. Put the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. Heat for another 20 seconds or so.

10. Pour melted chocolate into a zip lock bag and cut a small hole in one of the corners.

11. Pipe/drizzle the chocolate onto the pop corn.

12. Sprinkle with sprinkles.

13. Place in the refrigerator so the chocolate can harden.Sampling before you do so, of course.

14. Once the chocolate has hardened break up the pop corn and scoop it into treat bags and enjoy!

DIY Body Scrubs Recipe

DIY Scrub{photo credit:  Katie Hickenbottom Photography}

Well, our days of wearing cute sandals and flip-flops are long gone (boohoo!).  Before your footsies go into hibernation show them some love by giving them an invigorating and restoring scrub. We’ve got two recipes that are super easy to whip up and they make enough to share!  Add a cute tag and you’ve got a sweet little gift – your friends toesies are probably in need some TLC too.  These would also make a great bridal shower gift!

DIY Scrub{Photo credit:  Katie Hickenbottom Photography}

Rise and Shine Brown Sugar and Coffee Scrub
1/2 cup coffee grounds
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oil (olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil all work well)
3 tbsp. honey

Pep in Your Step Peppermint Vanilla Scrub
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp vanilla
4 to 6 drops peppermint oil (can be found at Whole Foods in the beauty aisle)

Just mix up the ingredients in a bowl, divide into jars and boom! You’ve got two amazing scrubs! Use these scrubs on your legs right before you shave, or leave them near the sink and use them on your hands. Try experimenting with different oils, scents and textures – like oatmeal. We’d love to know what you come up with – leave your recipe in the comments section!

Happy scrubbing!
