Magical Leprechaun Bark Recipe

This St. Patrick’s Day whip up some magical leprechaun bark for your wee lads and lasses!

magical leprechaun bark

Here’s how to make it…

magical leprechaun bark

Get 3 bags of colored Wilton Candy Melts.  I chose two shades of green and white.  Order some Candyfetti from Sweets Indeed and pick up some marshmallow cereal from the store.  Separate the marshmallows out.magical leprechaun bark

Cover a shallow baking pan with foil.

Melt the candy melts in the microwave for 1 minute.  Stir the melts and put them back in for 30 seconds.  Stir again (at this point you could add flavoring to your candy melts) and pour onto baking tray.  Do this will all three colors.

Once you have all your colors poured onto the baking tray use a fork or toothpick to swirl the colors together.

Sprinkle the Candyfetti and marshmallows onto the chocolate.  Place the tray in the refrigerator for an hour or two.  Once firm you can lift the foil off the baking tray, turn the leprechaun bark onto the counter and peel the foil away.  Break the bark into small pieces.  Eat it as is or put it on cupckaes, cakes, make hot chocolate with it, wrap it up in a cello bag and give it as a gift.  So many magical possibilities!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Party Popcorn

This candy coated popcorn makes for a sweet and salty treat we can’t get enough of. Use any color of candy melts to compliment your party’s decor or theme. Serve it up at any celebration, package it up in popcorn boxes or cello bags to send home with guests as the perfect party favor!

-One 12oz bag of vanilla flavored Wilton Candy Melts. These come in a multitude of colors and can be found in the baking section of your local craft store. For this recipe we used white.

-8 cups of air popped popcorn

-Sprinkles or nonpareils. These can be any color you’d like as well. For this recipe we used rainbow sprinkles.

-Salt to taste

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Divide popped popcorn between the two baking sheets. Following the package directions, melt the candy coating. The microwave method works beautifully! Once your candy is melted, drizzle it over the popcorn, dividing it evenly between the two baking sheets. Using a rubber spatula, fold and turn popcorn to coat in the melted candy. Lightly salt the coated popcorn and add sprinkles while the candy coating is still soft. Allow the coated popcorn to set up and harden for about an hour. Once it’s dry break up the popcorn into smaller pieces. Store in an airtight container until you’re ready to package up or serve.

Looking for a fancy gift? We can help! Who doesn’t love a movie night? Pair our Hammonds popcorn with cute popcorn bags, a farmers popcorn cob, popcorn seasoning and of course chocolate. It’s a gift that’s sure to please and make anyone’s movie night a huge hit!

Stop in Tuesday January 19th and join our popcorn party! Snack away while we help put the finishing touches on your next event!

Party on,

Apple Cider Doughnuts and Drinking Chocolate

Fall is here! Oh, how I love fall…and donuts (doughnuts?)…and hot chocolate. So, you can imagine my excitement when Fancy That got Stonewall Kitchen’s Apple Cider Doughnut Mix and Treehouse Chocolate’s CAMP Drinking Chocolate in the shop! I knew it was my duty to taste test these products – it’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it, right?

The apple cider doughnut’s were so easy! If you want to make them according to the directions on the box you will need a doughnut pan. Unfortunately, I do not own a doughnut pan (how, with my love of doughnut’s, do I not own a doughnut pan?! I’ve added it to my Christmas wish list. Anyway…). So, I improvised and made doughnut holes and instead of baking them I fried them. Doughnut holes are all the rage now anyway you know.

Okay, let’s get started! Here is what you’ll need.

For the mix you'll need an egg, butter, and milk.
For the mix you’ll need an egg, butter, and milk.

To fry the donuts you'll need oil, a pot, a small ice cream scoop or 2 spoons, and a thermometer.
To fry the doughnuts you’ll need oil, a pot, a small ice cream scoop (or 2 spoons), and a thermometer.

First you’ll want to start heating your oil. Pour about 2 inches of oil in a medium pot. Heat the oil to 350 degrees.

To make the doughnut batter follow the directions on the back of the box.

Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the oil. Once it’s hot enough drop in a test scoop of batter. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.

Take the doughnut out and cut it in half to make sure it’s cooked all the way through. Adjust your cook time accordingly. If the doughnuts are browning to fast, lower the oil temperature.

Place the cooked doughnuts on a paper towel lined plate.

Once you’ve cooked all the doughnuts open the packet of cinnamon sugar and pour in a bowl. Roll the doughnut holes in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve ASAP (or before you eat them all – remember sharing is caring)!

These doughnuts are so so so so good! The cinnamon sugar even has an apple cider spice to it. Seriously, so good. Did I mention how good these are?!

If you really feel like indulging pick up a couple packs of Treehouse Chocolate’s CAMP Drinking Chocolate. There are several other flavors available at Fancy That too! The one I had was like a super delicious mocha! Add a dollop of fresh whipped cream and you will be in creamy chocolate heaven!

Camp Drinking Chocolate

Doughnuts and chocolate are perfect for breakfast, brunch, dessert, a snack…

Donuts and Chocolate

Really, when aren’t doughnuts and chocolate perfect to eat?

They’re also the perfect gift! Stonewall’s Apple Cider Doughnut Mix, two packs of Treehouse Chocolate’s CAMP Drinking Chocolate and 2 fancy mugs – whoever you gift that to will totally be your BFF! I know I would!

Happy Fall!
